In North America Bighorn Sheep Native to the Rocky Mountains, great climbers. Their horns can weigh up to 30lbs. Bald Eagle The national symbol of the United States. Its wingspan is over 8ft, and it can dive at 100mph. Raccoons These masked bandits are notorious for stealing any food that is not put away. Black Bear Bears also love to raid campsites for food. They look really cute, but you don't want to see one angry. Moose This majestic animal is the largest member of the deer family. They are known for their huge antlers. Timber Wolf Since the wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park, the overall health of the ecosystem has improved. Cougar Also known as a puma or mountain lion, this is the only big cat that purrs. I don't recommend getting close, however. Bison This is the largest animal in North America, as massive as they are they are still fast and agile. Otter Otters are notoriously playful acrobats on land and in the water. Previous Next
On Safari Leopard A spotted, silent, solitary hunter. Zebras Black and white stripes mark this horse-like animal. Cheetah The fastest on land, this sprinter can easily overheat. Giraffe This tallest animal can eat the tender leaves at the tops of the trees. Lion The King of the Beasts is a family man. Antelope Antelope rely on numbers for protection, keeping their young inside a circle of vigilant adults. Hyena Once described as cat-like dogs, these animals are more closely related to cats than to dogs. Rhinoceros Its name means 'nose-horn' and this horn can be nearly 3 feet long. In the Ocean Dolphin A highly intelligent, playful, social, and vocal marine mammal. Fish There are approximately 20,000 different species of fish in the ocean. Great White Shark These sharks can be up to 20 feet long, and may live 70 years. Jellyfish The Jelly ranges in size from 1 mm to 7ft, and the trailing, stinging tentacles can be up to 120 ft long. Hammerhead Shark The unusual shape of its head is thought to allow it to see 360 degrees above and below. Octopus They are masters of camoflage, and can rapidly change shape to squeeze through tiny gaps. Whale Shark This largest fish (up to 62 ft), eats only the smallest plankton and fish. Whales There are 90 species of whales, the Blue Whale is thought to be the largest creature that ever lived at 98 feet long and 200 tons. Sea Turtle Sea Turtles can't pull their heads into their shells. The Leatherback Turtle eats mainly jellyfish. Previous Next
